Weigh trucks at 100 km/h. Court-ready evidence included.

Our WIM subsystem measures speed, axle count, axle weight, axle-group weight and gross weight without stopping traffic, then links the record to plate capture and imagery.

WIM lane with LED variable message sign

What the station does unsupervised

  • Detects speed, axle count, axle weight, axle-group weight, gross weight and vehicle class in one pass
  • Vehicle separation distinguishes trailer from semi-trailer so every axle maps to the right record
  • Data caching buffers readings through network outages and resends on recovery
  • Self-diagnosis reports device and line faults automatically
  • Cheat detection flags S-weaving, abrupt braking and dragging across the sensor
  • Runs 7 by 24 unattended; the officer only sees flagged events

System architecture

1. SensingWide-flange plate sensors in the lane + vehicle detectors; 1 to 100 km/h measurement window.
2. InstrumentWIM instrument sums wheel loads into axle, axle-group and gross weight; classifies vehicle.
3. IdentificationANPR camera captures plate; LED variable message sign shows weight and verdict to the driver.
4. Evidence & platformOutdoor control cabinet, HD surveillance, height-width-length detection and the enforcement platform link weight, image and plate into one enforceable record.

Deployment pattern: sensors embedded flush at approach, gantry with camera and LED sign past the weighing zone.

Dynamic accuracy class: gross weight class 1, single-axle class E on our multi-platform layout, overall better than plus or minus 0.5% in station conditions. Final accuracy depends on road substrate and calibration; we commission on site.
